Subject: Observance of Traffic Separation Schemes

Reference: - Internationa Regulations for Prevention Collision at Sea, 1972

- Law No. 7 of November 1979

 

  1. By means of Law No. 7 of 9 November 1979, the Republic of Panama has ratified the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972 (COLREGS '72), which came into force internationally on 15 July 1977.
  2. That by virtue of the date of the enforcement of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972, all vessels sailing under the Panamanian Flag in foreign service shall comply with the requirements of Rule 10 that regulates the manner in which vessels should navigate in Traffic Separation Schemes.
  3. Owners, Masters or Officers who fail to comply with the requirements of Rule 10 may be subject to a fine.
