To: Shipowners/Operators, Shipbuilders and Approved Classification Societies

Subject: Regulations Concerning Life – Saving Appliances, etc. for New Ships engaged on

International Voyages

 

  1. Cargo, Passenger Ships and Tankers whose keels were laid or which were at a similar stage of construction on or after 1 July 1986, shall comply where applicable with SOLAS 1974/81/83 regulations concerning life-saving appliances, etc., according to applicable requirements shown in Chapter III.
  2. For ships constructed before 1 July 1986, this Administration will ensure that the requirements which are applicable under Chapter III of the SOLAS 1974, in force prior to 1 July 1986 to new or existing ships as prescribed by that chapter, are complied with.
