1. Vessels which come under the purview of Solas (International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea) and other applicable conventions such as the International Load Lines Convention, and the International Oil Pollution Convention, must have on board valid statutory certificates issued under the provisions of these conventions. Additionally all vessels are to have an International Tonnage Certificate or a National Tonnage Certificate (where applicable).
2. The technical certificates required by the Panamanian Administration, as specified in the applicable conventions are the following:

1. Passenger Ship Safety Certificate (Passenger Vessels)
2. Safety Construction Certificate (Cargo Vessels)
3. Safety Equipment Certificate (Cargo Vessels)
4. Safety Radiotelegraphy Certificate (Cargo Vessels of 1600 GRT and over)
5. Safety Radiotelephony Certificate (Cargo Vessels of 300 GRT and upwards, but less than 1600 GRT)
6. Load Line Certificate (Passenger and Cargo Vessels)
7. International Tonnage Certificate or National Tonnage Certificate (where applicable)
8. Grain Loading Certificate (where applicable)
9. International Oil Pollution Prevention Certificate (Marpol)

1. In order that owners and others concerned with Panamanian Flag vessels comply with the International technical certificates, the following organizations have been entrusted with the survey of ships and issuance of relevant convention certificates on behalf of the Republic of Panama:

18. Panama Marine Company Inc.

1. The following organizations are also authorized to issue some statutory certificates on behalf of the Republic of Panama:

2. S.A.I.T. Electronics: Radiotelephony and Radiotelegraphy Certificates
