To: Shipowners/Operators and Masters of Vessels

Subject: Data and Documentation Required for Ship Registration

Reference: Regulation 1-76 dated December 17, 1976

 

  1. The following data and documentation must be submitted with its correct Spanish Translation:

  1. Application Data

b. Power of Attorney from owners to persons requesting registration on behalf of the owners.

c. Official certificate or records proving that the vessel has canceled its former registry and has the consent of the country of former registration to transfer registry to Panama.

d. Original Bill of Sale. This document must be signed by seller and buyer. Whenever new construction is involved, a Construction Certificate will be required with the detailed particulars of the vessel. This certificate will be issued by the shipbuilder.

e. Tonnage or Measurement Certificate.

f. Other Technical certificates carried by the vessel in accordance with international conventions. Such technical certificates must be issued by any of the institutions recognized by the Republic of Panama*.

g. Application for Radio License.

*These certificates must be photocopies of the original and must bear the corresponding authentication of the institutions that have issued them.
